Graduates

The IGO Graduate Program is supported by structured training and development tailored to the individual, mentoring, and on the job learning, and offers outstanding university graduates a 2-3 year program supporting you in your transition from study to career. During our program you are empowered to work in a variety of locations within your discipline and may have the opportunity to work in both site and office based roles. Many Graduates transition into permanent roles within IGO at the end of the program.

Applications Open: 1 February

Start Date: Our Graduate Program commences in January /February each year.

 

Vacation Students

The IGO Vacation Program offers both undergraduate and post graduate students the opportunity to participate in a 12- week paid program held over the summer break with the prospect of securing a Graduate position at the end of the program. Students are usually in the penultimate year of undergraduate studies and experience a variety of hands on work providing an opportunity to apply their skills and learn more about the mining industry.

Start Date: Our Vacation Program commences in November each year.

 

What to Expect

STEP 1       Online Applications Open (1 February - 31 March)

Apply to the IGO Graduate and Vacation Programs through the IGO Job Opportunities portal with your CV and Academic transcript. Apply here.

STEP 2       Pre-screening and Online Assessment Activity

Eligible applications will be invited to complete an online assessment used to identify the right people for the right roles at IGO. The screening of your application and the online assessment will be used to look at your cognitive ability, your motivation to work for IGO and your working preferences.

STEP 3         Assessment Centres (mid-May)    

If you are successful through our screening process you will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre either at our offices in South Perth or online.  The Assessment Centre will consist of a group activity and discussion, an interview, and a chance to meet IGO employees in an informal networking setting.  This will help us gain a better understanding of your skills and interests, as well as give you the opportunity to learn more about the program and how you can apply your skills and experience in a practical role at IGO. 

STEP 4       Offers Made 

You will receive an offer as soon as possible to give you time to prepare for the first step of your career with IGO.  

STEP 5        Start Date
