Stockman Base Metals Project
The Stockman Project, located near the township of Benambra in East Gippsland, Victoria plans to mine and process 1 million tonnes of ore per annum to produce copper and zinc concentrates over a projected nine year operating life. The Victorian Minister for Planning recently released his final assessment of the Stockman Project proposal on 30 October, 2014. The assessment recommends approval of the project provided risks are managed appropriately. This recommendation will allow the project to go to the detailed licensing stage.
The assessment report, which includes recommended project conditions, is currently being reviewed by Independence Group for finalisation of the economic feasibility study for the project.
